Zimbabwe is a stunningly beautiful landlocked country, rich in resources and hardworking, delightfully friendly positive people. Bordered by South Africa to the south, Mozambique to the east, Botswana to the west and Zambia to the northwest, whose early history was somewhat turbulent with latter day politics and economics have seen the country experience a torrid roller coaster ride. However, times have changed and the country has emerged as a highly desirable place to safari and to visit.
The main attraction for a Zimbabwe journey is the mighty Victoria Falls, in full flow is the world’s greatest mass of falling water, on the Zambezi River. One of the seven wonders of the world shared with Zambia, the Zimbabwe side with its sixteen viewpoints including the Devil’s Cataract has long been a traditional destination for Africa travellers. These days there are numerous activities to view the Falls from both sides taking advantage of various sightseeing and adventure activities. Victoria Falls, with its international airport is replacing Harare, the capital, as the main port of entry for tourists and from here, it’s a relatively short distance to Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe’s oldest and largest wildlife sanctuary and onto Lake Kariba, Gonarezhou National Park or Mana Pools National Park.
