Our guests often contact Wildlife Safari keen to donate and contribute to a community project or a local school in rural Kenya. To facilitate the numerous requests, Wildlife Safari created the BOOKS 4 KIDS initiative which guarantees total transparency where 100% of every donation received goes to benefit local children attending school.
Wildlife Safari does not hand over money to a local school and we discourage our guests from doing the same, as we know cash has a habit of quickly disappearing and resulting in no actual benefit to the kids or the local school. Wildlife Safari Kenya sources school supplies from a local supplier which are delivered to the nominated school for our guests to distribute directly to kids at a rural school during their safari.
A minimum donation of US$ 150.00 will purchase fifty individual kits each containing four exercise books, two pens, two pencils, one eraser, one pencil sharpener and one ruler.
Wildlife Safari will arrange your school visit to take place during your safari in Kenya after we have received your donation. We require at least thirty days’ notice prior to your arrival date in Nairobi, Kenya to plan and arrange a school visit. As you appreciate there are communication and various challenges in rural Kenya involved and Wildlife Safari will never arrive at a school unannounced. It is important the particular school is aware of the visit so as not to impact on a school’s daily schedule.
