Journey Overview

Travelling in style you will journey from Delhi, the national capital city into the heart of India to Madhya Pradesh. Discover the jungle forests of Kanha and Bandhavgarh on exhilarating game drives staying in exceptional lodges in remote wilderness areas. Enjoy the finest retreats selected for their outstanding accommodation, hospitality, experienced naturalist guides and the best access to the national parks. An intriguing diversion is a short stay in the world heritage site of Khajuraho to explore the ancient northern Indian temple architecture.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 01
Delhi

Arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport where a Wildlife Safari representative will meet you with a warm welcome and escort you by private vehicle to your legendary hotel. Delhi, the capital of India, is the essence of modern India with its startling contrasts between the old and new.

Overnight – The Imperial

Day 02
Delhi

Set out on a day of private sightseeing to explore magnificent Mughal architecture and discover the sights of this vibrant city. Starting in Old Delhi visit the impressive Jama Masjid before taking a rickshaw ride through the narrow lanes of Chandni Chowk. Continue to New Delhi, built by the British, past the Parliament Buildings, India Gate, Humayun’s Tomb and Birla House.

Overnight – The Imperial

Day 03
Khajuraho

Up early for your private transfer to Delhi Airport for your domestic flight to Khajuraho, the temple city. With your private guide explore the world heritage site of ancient temples uniquely crafted from sandstone built between 950 and 1050 by the Chandela Dynasty.

Overnight – The Lalit Temple View

Day 04
Bandhavgarh

Set off with your driver travelling through the countryside towards Bandhavgarh National Park, a park of great significance for any tiger safari. The landscape of Bandhavgarh is dramatic with tropical forests, woodlands, hilly terrain and grasslands in the valleys and is renowned to have one of India’s highest densities of Bengal Tiger.

Overnight – Mahua Kothi, A Taj Safari

Day 05 & Day 06
Bandhavgarh

Two days to explore the various habitats in Bandhavgarh National Park on early morning and afternoon safari drives by open 4WD custom designed vehicles with your experienced naturalist guide.

Day 07
Kanha

After breakfast continue by road to one of India’s largest parks for a stay at your luxury tented lodge located on the banks of the Banjaar River overlooking Kanha National Park.

Overnight – Banjaar Tola, A Taj Safari

Day 08 & Day 09
Kanha

Kanha, the largest national park in central India was one the exclusive hunting ground of British viceroys and among the most picturesque reserves with lush sal and bamboo forests, grassy meadows and steep ravines. Spend your days on daily game viewing drives with your naturalist guide in open 4WD custom designed vehicles in search of the elusive Bengal tiger and other wildlife species.

Overnights – Banjaar Tola

Day 10
Depart India

After breakfast depart with your driver to Jabalpur Airport for your domestic flight to Delhi and onward travel arrangements.
