What to expect

Our Remarkable Rwanda journey travels to mystical Nyungwe National Park, one of the oldest rainforests in Africa, offering a vast array of flora, birds and wonderful diversity of primates. Venture deep into the majestic Volcanoes National Park and trek with your guide on a close and deeply personal encounter with the endangered mountain gorilla on a private journey of discovery.
Your Journey Begins
Arrive in Kigali clear immigration and custom formalities to be greeted by your Wildlife Safari representative who will escort you by private vehicle to your city hotel.
Overnight – Kigali Serena Hotel
Set off with your driver travelling through rolling hills and rural lands towards Nyungwe National Park to arrive at your luxury nature lodge on the edge of the ancient mountain rainforest, home to a variety of primates and a startling array of bird species.
Overnight – One&Only Nyungwe House
Today you may choose to stay close to your lodge or set off with your naturalist guide on a chimp trek in Nyungwe National Park.

Set off on the drive passing terraced hills of Rwanda’s agriculture region towards the cloud shrouded Virunga Mountains. Arrive at your luxury lodge to relax and prepare for your gorilla trek. One&Only Gorilla’s Nest in the foothills of the Virunga Volcano Range has a brilliant location being so close to the gate where you start your trek.
Overnight – One&Only Gorillas Nest
Up very early and set off with your park guide with the (optional) assistance of a local porter into the equatorial rainforest in search of your allocated mountain gorilla family. Trek the slopes of the Virunga Mountain range, ascending slowly through thick bamboo and dense foliage on a trek which can take several hours while your guide locates the gorilla family. Spend precious time observing the gorillas and once your allotted viewing time is over return to your starting point and journey back to your luxury lodge.

Spend the day at leisure or experience the variety of activities at your luxury lodge.

Set off for Kigali, the capital city, to arrive at Kigali International Airport for your onward travel arrangements.
