The Grand Safari is our quintessential safari designed with consideration of the first time Africa traveller by allowing ample time to explore East Africa’s finest wildlife sanctuaries in Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti in Northern Tanzania with Amboseli, Ol Pejeta, Lake Nakuru and the iconic Masai Mara in Kenya. The Grand Safari represents excellent value with more wildlife viewing opportunities than most East Africa safaris offer. Journey in our private custom designed safari vehicle always accompanied by an expert Wildlife Safari guide.
Your Journey Begins
Arrive into Kilimanjaro International Airport, Tanzania. Clear customs and immigration to be greeted by our Wildlife Safari representative who will escort you by private vehicle to your lodge situated in a working coffee plantation under the shadow of Mount Meru.
Overnight – Arusha Coffee Lodge
Travel to Arusha Airport for your scheduled flight to the legendary Serengeti National Park. On landing meet your Wildlife Safari guide and drive across the open savannah plains, home to massive herds of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle along with buffalo, elephant and giraffe to arrive at your tented camp.
Overnight – Nanyukie Lodge
Today enjoy a full day of exceptional game viewing in the Serengeti, world famous for its annual wildebeest and zebra migration however the game viewing is exceptional at any time.

Set off across the Serengeti in your Wildlife Safari vehicle travelling through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to arrive at your safari camp on the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater. Your afternoon is at leisure to enjoy the magnificent views and your surroundings.
Overnight – Ngorongoro Tented Camp
Up very early to descend the Ngorongoro Crater. Enjoy a picnic breakfast and set off on a morning of unsurpassed game viewing as you travel across the crater floor. Return to your lodge for a late lunch with your afternoon and evening at leisure.

Set off on the drive to Arusha and continue to the border crossing into Kenya where you will be met by your Wildlife Safari Kenya guide. Drive to the private conservancy on the edge of Amboseli National Park, with Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak providing a spectacular backdrop on a game viewing drive as you travel to your safari lodge.
Overnight – Elephant Gorge Camp
Head out on an early morning game viewing drive in anticipation of a clear view of Mount Kilimanjaro’s snow covered peak. Afternoon game viewing drive around the many springs fed by Kilimanjaro’s melting snows in search of Amboseli’s legendary elephant herds.
Overnight – Elephant Gorge Camp
After a leisurely breakfast set off on safari in your Wildlife Safari vehicle driving north through the rich farming highlands. Stop for a photo at the Equator before entering Ol Pejeta, the finest private wildlife sanctuary in Kenya, owned and managed by an international conservation organisation. Lunch at your safari camp followed by a late afternoon game viewing drive.
Overnight – Sanctuary Tambarare Camp
An exceptional day of game viewing with your activities arranged by your guide and your preferences. You may visit the only chimpanzee sanctuary in Kenya where abandoned and rescued animals are provided refuge and the opportunity to observe the rare white northern rhino, white rhino and black rhino.
Overnight – Sanctuary Tambarare Camp
Set off and experience spectacular views as you cross the Equator on a drive through the Great Rift Valley with the scenery continuously changing as you journey past tea and coffee plantations. Arrive at your luxury safari camp on the shores of Lake Elmenteita, one of a series of Great Rift Valley lakes and an ornithologists’ sanctuary.
Overnight – Lake Elmenteita Serena Camp
Venture out of the conservancy to Lake Nakuru National Park, the legendary flamingo sanctuary and home to numerous aquatic bird species. Lake Nakuru is a breeding sanctuary for the endangered black rhino, white rhino and the rare Rothschild giraffe, relocated to the region in an effort to replenish the species.
Overnight – Lake Elmenteita Serena Camp
Take off on a drive along the Great Rift Valley floor to the Masai Mara Game Reserve where you are immediately game viewing as you pass wildlife herds on the vast savannah plains to arrive at your tented camp sitting in the heart of the wildlife rich Mara Triangle where the Mara and Talek Rivers meet.
Overnight – Mara Ngenche Safari Camp
Spend two amazing days of exceptional game viewing in the Masai Mara following herds of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, eland, topi, impala and many other species. Lion, leopard and cheetah are found here in greater concentrations than anywhere else in Africa. Your Wildlife Safari guide can arrange an extended game viewing drive, travelling further into the park far away from other visitors and vehicles.
Overnights – Mara Ngenche Safari Camp
Time to say Kwaheri to your Wildlife Safari guide at Ol Kiombo Airstrip and board your scheduled light aircraft flight to Wilson Airport, Nairobi. You will be met by our Wildlife Safari Guest Liaison for your private transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport with assistance to your departure gate and onward travel arrangements.
Our Africa Experts will consult with you to design a journey based on your interests, desires and budget. We are independent and have been offering safaris for over fifty years. We recommend adding a balloon safari over the Masai Mara and/or Serengeti for the ultimate game viewing experience. Suspended in a wicker basket, with an experienced pilot guiding the balloon, you will float over endless plains almost skimming the treetops. On landing after a once in a lifetime journey, enjoy a traditional celebratory breakfast under an acacia in the bush.
