Day by Day Itinerary

Day 01
Kotugoda

Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport where a Wildlife Safari representative will warmly welcome you and escort you by private vehicle to your boutique hotel.

Overnight – The Wallawwa

Day 02
Sigiriya

After a leisurely breakfast drive north to the renowned Cultural Triangle. Continue through the dry zone and your luxury eco lodge situated in the heart of the Cultural Triangle.

Overnight – Jetwing Vil Uyana

Day 03
Sigiriya

Up early to visit the dramatic Sigiriya Rock Fortress built during the reign of King Kashyapa in the 5th century AD. The rock citadel rises from the jungle and the climb to the summit offers extraordinary views. Admire the Heavenly Maiden frescoes and Mirror Wall with its ancient graffiti, continue to the Lion Paws to reach the summit and ancient ruins of the palace complex. Return to your hotel with the remainder of your day at leisure.

Day 04
Sigiriya

Today travel to Polonnaruwa, the royal medieval capital from 1073 century to explore the ancient ruins and admire the significant statues of Buddha carved from massive slabs of granite. The sprawling ruins of the ancient city are dotted with manmade reservoirs, crumbling rock temples and stupas.

Day 05
Kandy

Head off and travel the spice route to Matale to visit a spice farm to see spices growing and learn about the flavours of Sri Lanka cuisine. Continue south to the lakeside town of Kandy known for the island’s most revered Buddhist relic in the golden roofed Temple of the Tooth.

Day 06
Kandy

Explore the highlights of Kandy with your chauffeur guide with time to shop for local arts and crafts and visit the golden roofed Temple of the Tooth. Continue to Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, its origins date as far back at 1371 with its extensive collection of both indigenous and imported trees, orchid house and abundance of flowers and plants.

Day 07
Bogawantalawa

After breakfast drive to Peradeniya Railway Station to board the train for a scenic rail journey to the charming town of Hatton. On arrival at Nanu Oya Railway Station your chauffeur guide will meet you and continue your journey by road to arrive at your bungalow on a working tea estate.

Day 08
Bogawantalawa

The day begins with tea served in your guest room. Enjoy the day at leisure to relax in the colourful English style gardens, taking in the picturesque surroundings, or with a dedicated tea expert visit the local tea factory or enjoy a walk on one of the many trails throughout the estate.

Day 09
Galle Fort

This morning depart for the palm fringed beaches of the south west coast and historic Galle Fort. Galle has a fascinating history with successive imperial reigns from the Dutch who built the fort and later seized by the British. Galle’s narrow cobble stone lanes are lined with churches, cloistered courtyards, shuttered colonial mansions and is easily explored on foot.

Day 10
Galle Fort

A morning of discovery to learn about the history of Galle Fort on a leisurely walk with a local guide. Your guide will reveal the legacy of the rampart walls, historical mansions and the lighthouse each significant hallmarks in the UNESCO heritage listed fort. Return to your hotel or continue on your own walking adventure exploring the numerous boutiques, cafes and jewellery stores.

Day 11
Galle Fort

A day at leisure to wander the narrow lanes exploring the fort precinct shopping for local artworks, artefacts, textiles and jewellery.

Day 12
Depart Sri Lanka

Today your chauffeur guide will transfer you to Bandaranaike International Airport for your onward travel arrangements.
