What to expect
An adventure of a lifetime will take you deep into the mist shrouded Virunga Mountain range, a chain of volcanoes, in the majestic Volcanoes National Park in north west Rwanda. Trek the slopes with your experienced guide for a close and personal encounter with a family of mountain gorillas and stay in a luxury safari lodge in a remarkable location with one of the most picturesque settings.
Your Journey Begins
Arrive in Kigali clear immigration and custom formalities to be greeted by your Wildlife Safari representative who will escort you by private vehicle to your boutique hotel.
Overnight – The Retreat
Set off and travel by road heading north passing terraced hills towards the cloud shrouded Virunga Mountains. Arrive at your intimate safari lodge on the slopes of an eroded volcanic crater with the afternoon at leisure.
Overnight – Bisate Lodge (Forest Villa)
Up very early and set off with your park guides and the (optional) assistance of a porter into the equatorial rainforest in search of your allocated mountain gorilla family. Trek the slopes of the Virunga Mountain range, ascending slowly through thick bamboo and dense foliage which can take several hours as your guide locates a gorilla family. Spend precious time observing the gorillas and when your time is over trek to the starting point and return to your luxury lodge.
Overnight – Bisate Lodge (Forest Villa)
Set off for Kigali, the capital city, to arrive at Kigali International Airport for your onward travel arrangements.
