What to expect
Our Kerala Kaper is a gentle introduction to the picturesque scenery of charming Kerala. Known for its welcoming people, tropical lushness and enticing cuisine our journey takes you from the colonial heritage of Fort Kochi to fragrant spice plantations in the verdant Cardamom Hills with the opportunity to spot birdlife and encounter wildlife in Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary before ending with long lazy days by tranquil backwaters observing daily life pass by.
Your Journey Begins
Arrive at Cochin International Airport where a Wildlife Safari representative will meet you with a warm welcome and escort you by private vehicle to your boutique hotel.
Overnight – Brunton Boatyard
Meet your local guide for a morning of private sightseeing. Fort Kochi has a rich trading heritage with Jewish, Arab and European influences, which makes for a unique mix of cultures, religions, and cuisines. Visit various points of interest including the Mattancherry Dutch Palace, Jew Street with its delightful blue and white Synagogue, Church of St. Francis where the explorer Vasco Da Gama was first buried and the unique cantilevered Chinese fishing nets.
Overnight – Brunton Boatyard
Set off on a scenic drive through the green highlands with a late arrival at your hotel, a series of straw covered cottages in the heart of spice growing region surrounded by mango, nutmeg and cardamom trees on the edge of Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary.
Overnight – Amritara Shalimar Spice Garden
Up early and set off on a nature walk on one of the many trails in the protected Periyar Sanctuary observing diverse habitats, birdlife and butterflies. In the afternoon take a guided walk through a spice plantation to see where spices are grown and learn about their many uses.

Depart for Kumarakom, a cluster of islands on the eastern shores of Vembanad Lake, to your eco lodge located in a coconut plantation. The resort has a serene location and can only be reached by taking a short boat ride. During your stay enjoy various optional activities of a guided walk to the local village, sunset cruise on the lake, a visit of the bird sanctuary, spend time in the Ayurvedic centre or simply enjoy the passing scenery on the lake.
Overnight – Coconut Lagoon
Up early and travel to Alleppey. Board a converted rice boat for a private cruise along tranquil backwaters edged with towering coconut palms, groves of mango, papaya and jackfruit and lush paddy fields. On board enjoy a delicious traditional lunch. A cruise on the backwaters is a quintessential Keralan experience as you drift past local villages observing daily life. Disembark and travel by private vehicle to Cochin International Airport for your onward travel arrangements.
