Day by Day Itinerary

Day 01
Delhi

Arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport where a Wildlife Safari representative will meet you with a warm welcome and escort you by private vehicle to your legendary hotel. Delhi, the capital of India, is the essence of modern India with its many contrasts between the old and new.

Overnight – The Imperial

Day 02
Delhi

Set out on a day of private sightseeing to explore magnificent Mughal architecture and discover the sights of this vibrant city. Starting in Old Delhi visit the impressive Jama Masjid before taking a rickshaw ride through the narrow lanes of Chandni Chowk. Continue to New Delhi, built by the British, past the Parliament Buildings, India Gate, Humayun’s Tomb and Birla House.

Overnight – The Imperial

Day 03
Agra

Up early and depart with your driver for the majestic city of Agra. Visit the red sandstone Agra Fort, where Shah Jahan spent years of confinement at the hands of his son Aurangzeb. Continue to Mehtab Bagh, the Charbagh complex on the other side of the Yamuna River to the Taj Mahal for a unique view.

Overnight – The Oberoi Amarvilas

Day 04
Ranthambore

Up very early to view the Taj Mahal at sunrise. Considered the finest example of Mughal architecture the white marble tomb of love was built by Shah Jahan in 1560 in loving memory of Queen Mumtaz Mahal. Return to your hotel for a leisurely breakfast and depart for Ranthambore adding a short detour to the abandoned Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri.

Day 05
Ranthambore

Take early morning and afternoon game viewing drives by safari jeep. Ranthambore National Park, one of the finest tiger reserves sprawls across undulating terrain of the Aravalli and Vindhyan ranges. The steep rocky hills and the imposing Ranthambore Fort, built in the 10th century, add to the intriguing landscape of dry deciduous forest, open grassy meadows, lakes and rivers.

Day 06
Jaipur

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your luxury tented camp before departing by road for Jaipur, known as the Pink City, named for its rose coloured lime wash that covers the city walls, various buildings and temples.

Day 07
Jaipur

Today meet with your guide for a day of private sightseeing. Travel past the legendary Hawa Mahal and continue to the sandstone Amber Fort to admire the Palace of Mirrors, Audience Halls and the Mughal gardens for a glimpse into the opulence of the past. In the afternoon visit the City Palace and continue to Jantar Mantar, the Observatory.

Day 08
Chhatrasagar Nimaj

Depart Jaipur with your driver for Chhatrasagar. In the late 19th century, Thakur Chhatra Singh of Nimaj, a powerful nobleman of the kingdom of Marwar resolved to dam a seasonal stream and create a reservoir. It was an ambitious project, but Thakur Chhatra Singh was committed and he changed the dry scrub into prime agricultural land.

Day 09
Chhatrasagar Nimaj

Day at leisure to enjoy the array of activities at your luxury tented camp. Take a nature walk, go bird watching or meet to locals at a nearby village with one of your hosts as your personal guide. In the afternoon take sundowners on a hill overlooking the lake followed by an extraordinary “under the stars” dining experience.

Day 10
Jawai Bandh

Up early for your drive to Jawai Bandh, set against a backdrop of granite rock formations, indigenous desert scrub and dramatic wilderness. In this area, leopards have been known to wander freely and an encounter with this elusive cat will be the highlight of your stay.

Day 11
Jawai Bandh

Spend your day on a wildlife activity. Experience the wilderness on a game viewing drive in an open safari jeep or you may decide to go on a guided walk.

Day 12
Jodhpur

After a leisurely breakfast depart by road for Jodhpur, the Blue City. Meet your guide for a leisurely walk through the ancient walled city where you will see colour everywhere in the spices, shoes, utensils and lacquered bangles.

Day 13
Jodhpur

This morning set out on a day of private sightseeing visiting the Jaswant Thada, a cluster of white marble cenotaphs built in 1899 AD. Continue to the imposing 15th century Mehrangarh Fort, sitting high on a rocky ridge and considered one of the best-preserved forts in India.

Overnight – RAAS Jodhpur

Day 14
Depart India

Transfer by private vehicle to Jodhpur Airport for your domestic flight to Delhi and onward travel arrangements.

Enjoy the colour and spectacle of a Festival to coincide with one of many significant annual festivals. Experience the Jaisalmer Desert Festival, the Pushkar Camel Fair or Holi Festival of Colour.
