Wildlife Safari

Journey to Paradise

Like sparkling gems scattered across the turquoise blue waters of the Indian Ocean, the 1,192 coral and sand  islands of the Maldives cover over a million square kilometres crossing  the equator slightly west of Sri Lanka. The origins of the twenty six atolls are lost in ancient history, with records indicating the islands may have been inhabited for over 5,000 years.  Recent history indicate the Maldives to be part of an  important trade route between east and west, settled by peoples from all over the world who left a significant influence on its people, their religion and culture.

The islands are completely flat, some are palm fringed, with white powder soft beaches, aquamarine lagoons, warm waters and exceptional clarity and surrounded by colourful coral reefs with one of the world’s most breathtaking views of underwater life.  If this is your ideal tropical island paradise, then you have discovered the magic of the Maldives.

Resort Transfers

Getting to your Resort

The style in which you travel to your resort depends on the location of your private island resort. Island resorts in the Inner Atolls are easily reached by a resort boat transfer directly from the jetty at Velana International Airport, Outer Atolls are reached by a scenic seaplane flight, while the Far Outer Atolls are reached by domestic flight and a resort boat transfer to your island resort. International flights land at Velana International Airport on Hulhule Island just a short distance from Male, the capital of the Republic of the Maldives.

On landing at Velana International Airport you will be warmly met by our resort representative who will confirm all the details for your resort transfer and will personally assist with your transfer.

Resort Boat

Resort boat transfers depart from the main jetty on Hulhule Island. No matter what time of day or night your flight lands you can immediately travel by resort boat to your island resort. On landing at Velana International Airport you will be met by our resort representative and personally escorted to the jetty for your shared resort boat transfer.

A scenic seaplane flight to a resort located in the outer atolls is only available during daylight hours. If your international flight lands into Velana International late at night you need to spend the first night at a hotel on Male or Hulhule, or at a nearby resort to catch the seaplane flight on the following day. For a day time arrival into Velana International Airport you will be met by our resort representative who will escort you to the resort lounge in the Seaplane Terminal while you wait for your seaplane flight to your resort.

A number of local islands have a domestic airport which is required for a transfer to an island resort in the Far Outer Atolls. On arrival at Velana International Airport our resort representative will personally escort you to the domestic terminal for your flight. The waiting time for the departure of your domestic flight will be kept to a minimum. On landing at the local domestic airport our resort representative will meet and personally escort you to the jetty for your shared resort boat transfer and the final stage of your journey.
